Technicolor Darkness is looking for local and international ladies and theydies to represent our Rainbow Ravers, Melancholy Misfits, Techno Snobs, & Trippy Nymphs collections. Forget mannequins and AI-slop. Technicolor Darkness is built by real humans so naturally we need real content creators with contagious auras to be the living, breathing, embodiment of the Technicolor Darkness aesthetic.
ABOUT THE GIG
Content Creation: Produce high-impact user-generated photo/video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) that feels authentic and engaging to our target audience. Use strong lighting, clean composition, and industry-standard platform-ready specifications.
Creative Autonomy: You choose the locations / poses / props / styling to create strong visual narratives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Gotta Have It:
Aura Check: You’re comfortable and captivating on camera, able to convey a feeling with a single glance. You respect festival culture while still managing to grab fire content at the rail. You bring a vibe that is undeniably human to set us apart from the AI-generated noise.
Tech Savvy: You understand how a look translates across mediums and how to highlight specific product details differently in photography vs. short-form videos.
Platform Engagement: You maintain an active, curated social presence that your followers respect for authetntic festival trends straight from the dancefloor. Your followers love to comment on your distinctive sense of style.
Be About It: You don't just wear rave fashion for fun; you’re also part of the scene. You and your rave fam share a passion for regularly attending EDM events and staying tapped into the culture. We're not just looking for someone who has expert knowledge of rave culture and its fashion trends, we’re looking for someone who genuinely lives for the next DJ set.
Bonus points:
Your rave closet already contains some pieces of Technicolor Darkness emo streetwear and rave fashion OR you have staple accessories that would pair well with any future collections (Hard Techno, Cyber Goth, PLURRcore, etc.)
Competency with video editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut) to turn raw footage into ready-to-post assets.
You run a blog, website, or podcast for EDM news and events.
You’ve curated a strong online following (4k+ on core platforms) with consistetly high engagement rates.

FREELANCE NEEDLE WORKERS
Do you find serenity in the hum of your sewing machine and take pride in impeccable stitching? Technicolor Darkness (a Bay Area-based independent creative brand specializing in slow, sustainable, upcycled rave fashion) is seeking a few highly skilled local Needleworkers to bring our unique textile projects to life.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technicolor Darkness Needleworker you’ll be a crucial part of our small-batch production process by providing expert-level sewing, construction, and finishing work on limited-run pieces of emo streetwear, rave fashion, and haute couture. Here’s what you'll be responsible for:
Garment Construction: We’ll talk designs and provide the materials. You’ll pattern, assemble, and finish each piece to professional standards.
Quality Check: You’ll inspect everything to guarantee flawless stitching, clean finishes, and matching our agreed upon specs.
Material Love: You treat the fabrics and materials we give you with respect and care, from start to finish and through any in-person exchanges.
Keep Us Posted: We believe communication is key! Let us know proactively about project timelines, when materials are ready, and any shifts in your capacity.
Your Qualifications
Must-Haves
Equipment Proficiency: You own/rent/share a professional-grade sewing machine and serger (and are a total pro with them).
Portfolio: You have photo examples of past sewing projects that demonstrate your skill.
Local: You live within 100 miles of the Bay Area, California for convenient material delivery/exchange.
A Keen Eye: An obsession with precision, detail, and you aim for a clean, professional finish on every piece.
Nice-to-Haves… But Not Dealbreakers!
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with a project management system (like Asana or Trello) to keep track of deadlines and specs.
Specialized Skills: Expertise in techniques like embroidery, leatherwork, mesh, or other highly technical stretch fabrics.
Here’s The Deal
This is a side hustle (huge emphasis on “side”). There are plenty of more lucrative gigs out there like selling feet pics (we don’t judge). But this is an opportunity to monetize your needlework craft with consistent, interesting projects in a flexible role with perks:
Remote & Autonomous: Work from the comfort of your own studio/home, determining your own working hours to meet deadlines.
Flexible Seasonal Work: Workload will vary based on project needs and orders, typically ranging from 5 to 20 hours per month, with our peak season being November through May (Summers off!)

Do you pride yourself on spotting digital trends before they happen? We're not just looking for someone who uses social media, we’re looking for someone who lives there. The Chronically-Online Intern will be the eyes and ears of Technicolor Darkness in every corner of the internet, focusing on the latest trends and audience behavior across all major and emerging platforms. Here’s how you’ll spend your time:
Trend Monitoring: Scrolling Instagram, TikTok, Tumblr, Reddit, Snapchat, YouTube, X, Threads, Pinterest, and any other emerging platforms to identify new formats, viral sounds, and platform features relevant to our vibe and target audience.
Competitive Intelligence: Monitor the market by legally stalking competitors. Observe the tastes and buying behaviors of potential customers to inform content strategy.
Deep Dive: Cultivate an authentic understanding of relevant niches (raves, electronic dance music (EDM), independent art, underground fashion, etc.) to ensure our content always hits with our audience.
Analysis & Reporting: Digest the market insights into clear, concise, and actionable reports.
Your Qualifications
Gotta Have It:
Cultural Fluency: A self-identified member of Gen Z with an innate understanding and genuine passion for digital culture, internet slang, and the nuanced "vibe" of each platform (why a meme is funny on X but never gained traction on Threads).
Platform Engagement: Documented high levels of daily screen time and active, informed participation across multiple social platforms (you know why your "For You" or "Explore" page looks the way it does).
Understanding of Viral Mechanics: Demonstrated familiarity with the principles that make content go viral, including timing, format, algorithm loop, and the emotional hook that made it blow up.
Niche Authority: You possess expert-level knowledge of our key online spaces (the EDM community, independent artists, and rave fashion). This is non-negotiable. We need someone who really gets it.
Not Required (But It Would Be a Flex):
Familiarity with a project management system (such as Asana or Trello) to keep your trend-hunting organized.
Prior experience or coursework related to digital advertising, media studies, or market research.
